The Spiritual Pitfalls that Truckers Face and How to Avoid Them

Hello truckers there are many temptations out there on the big roads that are just waiting to devour you so you never come to the knowledge of the truth. You have lot lizards out there waiting to devour you and adult book stores (pornography) in many places along the highway you MUST avoid. 

You truckers know that when a construction zone comes up and it goes to one lane you must focus more on staying in the narrow lane between the concrete barriers with very little wiggle room, right. Well God has a narrow road He wants all you truckers to be on that leads to heaven as long as you stay on that narrow path. As you know the DOT has rules that they want us to abide on but let me tell you that God's laws are way more strict and more important to obey for the sake of your soul.

Romans 8:6

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The Bible says, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).  It also says, "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."(Hebrews 4:13).  
You see, sin separates us from God and it will lead one to hell not heaven! God's Word is so very clear...."the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23)

First, you will die physically due to sin and then you will be judged and die spiritually in hell eternally without Christ as your Lord and Savior. God will judge all those who are NOT His holy people and send them into outer darkness. We love you and want better for you. So that is the bad news ... God's wrath is hanging over you, due to your sins. But let us rejoice.......we have the GOOD NEWS GOSPEL!!!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God (fully man /  fully God) who came to earth to die on the cross for your sins and to defeat death.  Because of man’s sinfulness, Christ was sent to the cross (shed His blood for forgiveness of sins) put to death (God's will), buried and then rose again to defeat death!  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16He showed us God's Kingdom to come and how to love God. love each other and our neighbor. He alone could over come the world / satan and gain eternal life for those who will seek after Him.
God in His love ( a one time act through Christ ) has made a way for you to be forgiven of your sins and gain eternal life with Him. Please know it is NOT just believing, doing some religion and going to heaven. That is all a lie!!!
In order to find that eternal life per God's Word you MUST have these 5 biblical gospel principles act work in your life:

1) Faith... in the finished work of Christ ( fully man, fully God ) and His perfect sacrifice for sins ( John 3:16 )

2) Repentance ... turning from your fallen mind and ways to God's Holy ways.  ( Luke 13:3 )

3) Born again... you must be born of God's spirit to ever see eternal life. In this new life, He gives you a new heart and mind to then serve Him. ( John 3 )

4 ) Holiness with obedience.... if your changed by God you WILL, as fruit, strive to leave all sin, worldliness, carnality and false ways ( like man made religion ) and obey His commands and be holy in all your ways. ( 1 Peter 1:15 / Heb 5:9 / Heb 12:14)

5) Endure in your faith.... You MUST keep clinging to Christ via this saving faith to the end of your life, lest you fall away and have believed in vain. ( Matt 10 and 1 Corinthians 15 ) 

The gospel is not just a religious action. No, it changes your entire life and you NO LONGER live for yourself but live to serve God alone. Jesus said you MUST worship God in spirit and truth. John 4:24

So you must be BORN of His spirit and you must seek Him in truth, not false religious ways of man that MOST today are doing each Sunday in ritual false man made ways.

Do you have His truth (the good news gospel) or do you have your own faith or a man-made tradition that has deceived you?  ( Colossians 2:8 ) Religion cannot save you nor can being good. God's wrath is upon all those (NOT born of Him) at their death. The worlds religions and denominations are full of the false gospels of man. Test your own faith and gospel to God's Word lest you be turned away in eternity as Matt 7.21 speaks of. (See our 10 point biblical test below.)
Those truly in Christ are changed people who live holy (1 Peter 1:15) and no longer conform to this fallen worlds ways. They avoid partaking of the carnal (sinful) culture ( sports, TV, movies, feminism, man made denominational religion etc ) but they will GO and proclaim the gospel into the world and call others out of it.   

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind  (Romans 12:2) 
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.   (1 John 2:15)  

Knowing Christ is about seeking and serving Him in truth, holiness, obedience by God’s Word (the bible) not practicing man made religion or relying on your good works.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him (Hebrews 5:9)
Warning: Jesus speaks of a NARROW road that FEW will find. Matthew 7. Are you on it? Or are you on the broad road to destruction?

I care about you truckers because God says I'm to love my neighbor as myself.

Matthew 22:36 - 22:40

36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Truckers, I hope and pray you become born again and that you make an effort to avoid all those pitfalls out there on the big road. I also have to keep myself accountable and put on the whole armour of God (God's Word) every day. Just aim to live for God one day at a time and be faithful and obedient and God will bless you.

There is good news though! You can have eternal life through Jesus Christ. Hopefully you read the 5 point gospel above.

Preaching the Gospel

1 Corinthians 9:18

“What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.” 

What a blessing it is to preach the gospel to the lost people of the world, giving them the oppurtunity that God gave us as christians to repent and be born again. I remember several times throughout my life that God used different people to plant seeds of truth in me, including and most of all from my grandmother.  I really never had any excuse to not seek God as no one has an excuse. I am born again through the power of Jesus Christ because He gave his life for me and I owe it to Him to obey His word which is my reasonable service. 

Romans 12:1

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” 

When you are born again it is your duty to preach the gospel and it is also showing that you love your neighbor.

Mark 12:31

“And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” 

How terrible it would be if I was ready for heaven and didn't warn others of the hell that awaits this lost dying world. 

Ezekiel 3:18

“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” 

Ezekiel 3:17

17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

Mark 16:15

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” 

I would like to add that if you are claiming to be born again and yet you have no desire to preach the gospel then you probably need the gospel yourself.  Or maybe you let pride enter in and you thought you were too good to share the gospel. Another words, you were not showing love for the lost people.

Luke 15:4

“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?” 

James 5:20

“Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.” 

John 1:23

“He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.” 

We have John the baptiser preaching to the lost and Jeremiah preaching with fire in his bones and most important our greatest example was Jesus preaching to people all over and showing love to the lost. We should be following Jesus example and spread the gospel to as many as we can.

So, as christians lets carry the torch of God's holy word and spread the good news of the gospel. May God be praised!!

The Joy of Preaching the Gospel

1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.  

Ezekial 36:26-27

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Amen, What a blessing to preach the gospel to the people of the world. They are needing to hear the truth because they are so blinded and caught up in every sort every sort of vanity you can imagine.   I was in the same sinful worldly wicked ways before I gave my life over to Jesus.  (repented and believed) The problem I had afterwards is staying consistent and creating discipline in my Christian walk.

Romans 6:20 

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Romans 6:17

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Amen, God can certainly change your heart and give you a new heart.The Lord has given me a new heart that I'm using for his glory. 

Acts 8:4

“Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.” 

As a christian we should desire to warn people in love. 

Ezekiel 3:19

“Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.” 

Our prayer is that the people we warn will repent and seek God's ways. I have been able to witness to employees and one man thanked me for stopping him. This man wanted more gospel tracks and gave some to his fellow employees. What a blessing!! I hope that man truly repents and that is our hope to everyone we witness to. If you are a christian witnessing helps you stop thinking of yourself and think about others. God will help you, as I am learning how to deal with people and show them I care but that doesn't mean they will take it lightly. Our job is just to preach and follow God's commision. Yes, preaching is a joyous thing but also a sad thing when people reject the gospel message.

1 Corinthians 2:4

“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:” 

May you go out and preach the good news!!!

My name is Jeremy Slatton and the Lord Jesus Christ has changed me into a new man in Christ.

Galatians 2:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I had to come to a place in my life of being broken, meaning see my sins for what they are, wicked and detestable unto God. I literally cried out to God and asked Him to forgive me for all my sins and mean it from my heart. For a long time I put my trust in a religious system which today they call church. Church today is not about people serving Christ but about people claiming Christ as they listen to one man uplift himself in a pulpit while the congregation goes back home to live the sinful life that they love. I no longer belong to a religous Sunday group nor will I ever sell God's truth. I was putting my trust in a man and not studying the scriptures. Every day is the Lords day and every chance we get we should exhort one another daily.Hebrews 3:13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

2 Timothy 3

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I am on an exciting journey to serve Jesus Christ while putting to death the deeds of the flesh. Is it easy...no. But it is necessary if you want eternal life in Heaven and also the power of God in your life here on earth. You have to take it one day at a time. 

Romans chapter 6 tells us:

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

My prayer for anyone reading this is that you will call on the Lord, asking Him to forgive you for your sins while turning away from them so that you can be forgiven and and the hope of eternal life. Romans 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
