Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
2But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
The ONLY way we can revenge disobedience is by Being obedient. If were purposefully casting down bad thoughts and thinking of things above that are of good report and appreciating the blessings God has bestowed us we can be sure God will help us in our christian walk. This walk with the Lord takes discipline and dedication on our part. Yes, we have to learn to have self control. And in order to do that, we must stay away from the appearance of evil and not comprimise the truth of Gods Word. If anything in our life is hindering us to serve God we should remove it from our life. I am still in the process of stripping down my flesh so that I can please God. Wow! It's so easy to please our flesh, but takes discipline to please God. We can accomplish this by keeping our hearts and minds pure by reading and meditating on His Word. I have been praying for the Lords guidance and asking Him to purge my mind and I have a stronger desire to obey Him. These scriptures should be read over and over to instill this in our mind and then it can go to your heart. The key to all of this is to remain humble unto the Lord and be willing to confess and forsake all sins. I hope this helps those who are seeking God's will for their life or convicts those who haven't considered it.
