1 Corithians 11 1-20
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
22 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
33 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ isGod.
44 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
55 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
66 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
77 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
88 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
99 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1010 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
1111 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
1212 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
1313 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
1414 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
1515 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
1616 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
1717 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
1818 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1919 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
2020 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.

I am and have for a long time been fully convinced based on scripture that the head covering is a command for every woman. The scriptures make this very distinctive and history proves that women without coverings were similar to a harlot. Think about it. What do women models do to look more seductive? They constatly move their hair about to show it off and attract the men. If you grew up watching television (which I tossed out years ago) you probably remember those make up commercials and the womans hair was a big deal to draw mens attention. We already know God hates seduction and promiscuity. This fact alone should give you the answer because this follows God's principles.

1 Peter Chapter 3
1 Timothy 2:9
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;”
Ephesians 5:23
“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
Guess what? If a woman covered her head she wouldn't have the problem of showing off her hair. This is clear. I am not proud of my past, but I did attend a public school and remember the flirty girls were the ones flipping their hair so you would notice them. This covering of a womans head is also about sobriety (seriousness). Again, refer back to 1 Timothy 2:9
The woman that shows her hair knows that it adds a level of attraction. (Men also use their hair as an attraction seeker)
Proverbs 31:10-12
1010 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
1111 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
1212 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
This verse is what God is looking for. There are many examples of women even in other cultures who do not know the Lord but they know that they should cover their heads as to not attract other men. This is a fact. How much more should a true woman of God obey the scriptures and do it for the glory of God. I pray this article encourages married and single women to obey the scriptures.
