Being Frugal for the Glory of God

Proverbs 21:20

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.”

This is using your money wisely. I purchased a $14 personal blender so I could make healthy smoothies. I have several tea bags I can use for cold brewing my coffee in a half gallon jar and a little oven I can bake what I call truckers chocolate chip cookies. There is a lot you can do with less if you think of surviving and thriving. In other words you really don't need as much as you think you do to survive. America is used to big houses full of all kinds of things that they don't need or don't use. I have been guilty of squandering my money on things that just sit around and collect dust. I was so wasteful and God was not happy that I did not save my money and spend wisely. I am now learning how to do this, and with a more focused purpose of serving God and obeying His word.

Luke 14:28

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”

I would like to mention that my wife was really content with less and I wasn't a good testimony in that respect. Financial squandering can put a dent in your marriage if one wants to be frugal and the other one doesn't. God wants us to be wise with our money and most important all to the glory of God. We can help others also if we save and manage our money correctly.

Romans 13:8

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”

2 Corinthians 8:9

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Living in a truck is getting me prepared for freedom in the future. The more things you have tied to your life (distractions) the less you can do for God. God wants saints to be in the ministry and be a living testimony. People all over the world are dying and going to hell and so many self proclaimed christians are too busy with their idols such as expensive boats and expensive hunting equipment and many other things that help them to fall by the wayside.

Mark 4:4-7

I am thankful I left the idolatry of having and owning lots of things that I don't need and now I can focus more on the ministry God has given me. We are only here on this earth for a short time so we need to redeem the time.

Colossians 4:5

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”

Ephesians 5:16

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Being frugal can be a joyous thing and a godly thing that God wants of His people. It is amazing how you don't need much to survive but yet you can still eat healthy and be a good witness to others. Living for Jesus has changed my life and my desires. Doing the things of God because I am born again has really blessed me. I have other true saints who have been faithfully serving God and are living on very little for the glory of God.
So if you are struggling with squandering money  like I once was then it's time you start a budget and save what you can. The Lord wants to use us and wants us to be wise with our resources so lets glorify Him.
I hope this article has been encouraging to you and may God be praised!!

If you are not born again read this 5 point gospel.

God in His love ( a one time act through Christ ) has made a way for you to be forgiven of your sins and gain eternal life with Him. Please know it is NOT just believing, doing some religion and going to heaven. That is all a lie!!!
In order to find that eternal life per God's Word you MUST have these 5 biblical gospel principles act work in your life:

1) Faith... in the finished work of Christ ( fully man, fully God ) and His perfect sacrifice for sins ( John 3:16 )

2) Repentance ... turning from your fallen mind and ways to God's Holy ways.  ( Luke 13:3 )

3) Born again... you must be born of God's spirit to ever see eternal life. In this new life, He gives you a new heart and mind to then serve Him. ( John 3 )

4 ) Holiness with obedience.... if your changed by God you WILL, as fruit, strive to leave all sin, worldliness, carnality and false ways ( like man made religion ) and obey His commands and be holy in all your ways. ( 1 Peter 1:15 / Heb 5:9 / Heb 12:14)

5) Endure in your faith.... You MUST keep clinging to Christ via this saving faith to the end of your life, lest you fall away and have believed in vain. ( Matt 10 and 1 Corinthians 15 )

The gospel is not just a religious action. No, it changes your entire life and you NO LONGER live for yourself but live to serve God alone. Jesus said you MUST worship God in spirit and truth. John 4:24

So you must be BORN of His spirit and you must seek Him in truth, not false religious ways of man that MOST today are doing each Sunday in ritual false man made ways.
