The Promises of God

Genesis 9:16

“And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.”

I was in Indianapolis and saw this beautiful rainbow and remembered the promise that God had made that he would not flood the earth again. This is about God's promises and how God keeps them. Before I talk about His promises I would like to mention that people want to hold God to the promises but they don't want to keep His word. People want to say they rely upon God, but in reality they don't because they please their flesh and
think God is ok with that. God wants man to repent of their sins and follow Him.

2 Corinthians 1:20

“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

2 Peter 1:4

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

Amen!!! We can be partakers of the divine nature!

God promises that one day there is a judgement coming and that we will all be held accountable.

Hebrews 9:27

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Promises of God are always pure and righteous.

Galatians 3:21

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.”

Psalms 19:9

“The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.”

We must rely on God's word while believingments His promises and striving to serve Him.

Deuteronomy 7:9

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”

Love God and keep His commandments and God will always keep His promises.

Hebrews 6:12

“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

You mean I can't inherit the promises if I please the flesh and deny the faith? I can't enjoy my sins because God paid the price for me? No No No

We must walk in obedience and holiness and live for Him daily.

John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

James 1:22

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

2 Corinthians 2:9

“For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.”

Yes we need to offer God proof we love Him by making sure our actions are holy and set apart from the world.

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

I hope you all are encouraged by this article and may God get the glory!!!
