Serving God His Way and Not Yours

1 Samuel 12:24

“Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.” 




Are you serving God your way like Cain tried to do? If you are thinking God is going to adjust His ways for you then you need to repent and be born again. There's a reason God's word is the standard for us to live by. That reason is to serve Him in spirit and in truth and all for God's glory. Look at what Cain did with his offering that he wanted God to accept.

This is the fruit of Cain, even to the point that he was angry that God would not accept him and jealous that Abel was favored with God. All Abel did was obey God and thats all Cain had to do. Cain even murdered his brother. 

1 Timothy 4:12

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 

This is the fruit of a godly young man and not a carnal one. This is a man who puts his flesh to death and serves God daily. 

Why are you not serving God the way His word says to? 

Serving God your way: 

.going to man made Sunday ritualistic system and following traditions of men

Colossians 2:8

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” 
.Setting your mind on doing great things for God but not being led by His spirit, which means being led by your flesh

Romans 8:5

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” 

.Letting experiences that you had dictate that 
you are serving God (people claiming they seen visions and other strange experiences that supposedly is a confirmation that God is with them). 

1 John 4:1

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 

.Wearing what you want and thinking God does not care.

Deuteronomy 22:5

“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so areabomination unto the LORD thy God.” 

Genesis 3:21

“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” 

This was a sin covering.

.pleasing your flesh with music, entertainment and fellowship idolatry thinking and presuming upon God's mercies thinking He is ok with it

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” 

.women becoming feminist serving God their way such as teaching and preaching to men and rebuking them

We are to worship in spirit and truth and serve God according to His word 

John 4:24

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

Galatians 1:10

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
