Are You an Outward Show or a Testimony Unto God?

Matthew 6:1 - 6:7

1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

These scriptures are very clear about God not wanting an outward show but a true heart that wants to serve God. 

John 4:24

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” 

Are you attending a man made Sunday religious system that is about putting on a show on Sunday and Wednesday and being a hypocrite the other days of the week? This is a vain repetitious act that God is not happy with. And what about the many religious groups that are starting their own vain religiosity. Recently a brother of mine (in the Lord) told me of this new group that believes in weird things to signify getting the spirit. This new group of religious folk believes in miracles and wonders such as god raining gold dust around them and other things such as raising people from the dead. (this is what their claiming) All this is just the scriptures being fulfilled. 

Matthew 24:24

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” 

This is the time were in now and it's not going to get better, but only worse. Satan is at work and he has his own followers who are trying to destroy the testimony of God. Please realize that this new religion is also creeping in the anabaptist circles and before you know it many others that are in man made religion will be deceived. This is why it is so important to get out of these man made systems and serve God where you are and ONLY unite with other true believers after you have tested them to God's word. 

1 John 4:1

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 

Amen for this verse! God is warning us christians to test the spirits and to be careful not to give in to their false doctrines. 

2 Timothy 4:3 - 4:4

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1 Corinthians 14:33

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” 

Yes, we know according to scriptures there aren't many saints to gather with, but if you find someone sound in the faith you should try and unite with them. (after testing them) 

Ephesians 4:14

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, andcunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” 

Look how many scriptures we have to warn us. Isn't this God trying to protect his saints. Aren't you glad we have an awesome God who cares about our soul. Well, what are you going to do with the truth? Are you going to continue an outward show or inwardly serve God from the heart (and obey God's word for proof). 

Matthew 7

2Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Do not be like one of these people who are going to be cast into the lake of fire because they did that which was right in their own eyes instead of doing what God commanded. 

May you seek the scriptures daily and live by them. 

John 5:39

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
