“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
There was a famous preacher who was called the walking bible but he sold out to the Catholics and uplifted them instead of preaching against their false doctrine.
No matter how much scripture you read or memorize it doesn't amount to anything if you disobey it. In fact if you read and disobey you are placing yourself under more judgment from God. You have the truth at your fingertips but choose to ignore it. God knows if you are a fake and it won't get past Him.
James 1:22
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Now of course we should be reading God's word but we are supposed to be studying it for more truths and how to apply it to our christian walk.
2 Timothy Chapter 3
2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Acts 17:11
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
This is the sad part about most christians. They do not test men to God's word. They assume the pastor has the answers and they will just go with the flow. This one man is ruling over the people by him claiming God called him to do that. What a lie. God doesn't go against His own word. We are supposed to uphold God's word as the standard. If your reading the bible and obeyng ,God will bless you. Read with the intent to obey. Many people read the bible but obeying it is another story.
Psalms 119:18
“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
John 15:7
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
