The Strong Man God is Looking For

1 Corinthians Chapter 16

Amen!! In order to be the strong man you must humbly serve God in spite of all circumstances around you. We must use our mind to think on things above even though we have to obviously use our mind to perform our daily duties such as work and the necessities of life. Yes, serving God can be a hard thing because we must learn to put to death our flesh daily. Many people are going to go against a true saint of God and this is to be expected.

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Colossians 3:2-17
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

We are to walk circumspectly for the Lord. To walk circumspectly is to walk with cautiousness and carefulness as to maintain a good testimony so God can get the glory. This requires a daily killing of our flesh. Casting down thoughts that can lead us astray from God.

2 Corinthians 10:5

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

This is a daily work but a joy to do for our Lord. We really should be joyous about the truth and willing to study His word and live up to His standards. We can attain this by desiring the truth and praying to God for strength on the narrow path. God will not avoid a humble man who follows Him in spirit and in truth.

Micah 6:8

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

What a wonderful verse for those that serve God. To those who serve their flesh and are carnal minded it is death.

Romans 8:6

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

What kind of man is God looking for? A man that will stand in the gap.

Ezekiel 22:30

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”

This passage refers to the corruption in the land and that God was seeking for at least one righteous man who would stand against sin. Moses was a man that stood in the gap and so was Abraham. Will we be that man? May we submit to God so we can be that man in the midst of a sinful world. In the midst of thousands of religious Sunday man made traditional churches we can still stand for the truth. What a glorious endeavor to be that strong man in the midst a a daily spiritual battle.

Ephesians 6:12

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

This wickedness is everywhere and is only getting worse as time passess.

2 Timothy 3:13

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

2 Peter 3

Yes, there will be worse days coming and scoffers are becoming prevalent in this day in time. My brother always tells me to hold fast and this is a biblical term to keep pushing forward and serving God with fervor. Being a soldier for the Lord is a blessing and has rewards but also has a time of sorrow, meaning we will witness to countless people and MANY will turn from the truth that God has to offer. This is sad but at the same time it is a choice that we all must make. If you choose to ignore God then you are also choosing to get His wrath. We must obey from the heart the commandments of the Lord and walk in His ways.

Isaiah 55:8

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”

My prayer is that we all who are following Christ will continue in the faith once delivered to the saints.

Jude 1:3

“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

I pray for all, including myself ,who are seeking God's truth and living according to His word that we will endure until the end. It is well worth the effort and is a testimony to our Lord.

I would like to add that a born again man is commanded to preach the gospel to this lost world and this should be our desire as well.

Mark 16:15

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

May our Lord be magnified.
